First, remove the shells and devein the shrimp. Then make shallow slits to straighten them out.

Cover in Cornstarch

Next, sprinkle cornstarch on the shrimp until they are completely covered.

Make the Batter

Next, add the flour to a large bowl. Mix it with cold water and egg, and whisk.

Coat in Batter

Next, dip each shrimp into the batter until completely coated.

Time to Fry

Finally, lower the shrimp carefully into the hot oil and fry until golden brown.

Dig In!

Serve with a bit of soy sauce, or try it with Sriracha Mayo or Bang Bang sauce for a spicy kick!
